25 years of Rederij Belle: The dream of a second lady

Rederij Belle is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year! In onze jubileumreeks blikken we terug op bijzondere momenten uit onze geschiedenis. In this section, we take you back to the year 2003 – the start of an ambitious expansion of our fleet.
The Belle van Zuylen has been sailing proudly on the Vecht for a few years now, but founders Alfred and Sacha are increasingly keen to be able to take larger groups out on the water and expand their sailing area. Their dream? A second saloon boat. Not just any boat – but the most beautiful one ever to sail. With elegant lines, stained-glass windows and a classic ‘swept stern’, it is to be a tribute to the sailing heritage they love so much.
The plans are taking shape. A warehouse has been rented at the NDSM shipyard. The overalls are back on, the tools are dusted off, and with a team of two skilled craftsmen and two apprentice carpenters, they get to work.
Will they succeed in making their dream a reality?
In the next newsletter, you will discover how this special project continued to take shape….
