A raw-industrial event venue on the water, in and next to Museum ‘t Kromhout. For dinners with atmosphere, story and hospitality with optional arrival by salon boat (Rederij Belle).
Dining among maritime heritage

De Oosthal is not a standard dining space, but a place with a story: industrial heritage, maritime history and museum pieces as a backdrop. That automatically gives the dinner a cultural charge and makes it suitable for moments that are allowed to be more than “just food” – from relationship evenings to anniversaries and special receptions.

Dinners are all about comfort and pace: good walking lines for service, ample space between tables and a logical place for reception and closing. De Oosthal is one large, open space that you can arrange so that the dinner runs smoothly – with room for a brief toast, a welcome or a subtle program element.
What you can manage on
De Oosthal is situated on the Nieuwe Vaart in Amsterdam East, right on the water’s edge, and also borders the Westhal shipyard. Historically, this area has been a major centre for shipbuilding and the maritime industry in Amsterdam.
Thanks to our central location by the water, we can also arrange boat transfers for your event guests.

Dinner in De Oosthal takes place in and next to Museum ‘t Kromhout, between maritime heritage and the history of Amsterdam’s manufacturing industry. That context automatically gives the evening depth, without having to become formal. The heritage can be subtly reflected in the welcome, the host script or a short route along the museum exhibits upon reception.
Cultural organizations (such as museums, music organizations and foundations) can take advantage of a modified rate.
A dinner party gets extra experience when it starts on the way: guests gather on board, land quietly, and start the evening with a reception on the water. Upon arrival, guests immediately step into the maritime-cultural setting of De Oosthal.
