De Oosthal is situated on the Nieuwe Vaart in Amsterdam East, right on the water’s edge, and also borders the Westhal shipyard. Historically, this area has been a major centre for shipbuilding and the maritime industry in Amsterdam.
Thanks to our central location by the water, we can also arrange boat transfers for your event guests.
De Oosthal ís maritime history: you organize your event literally in and next to Museum ‘t Kromhout, between cast iron trusses and historic (working) Kromhout engines. That makes every event, from product presentation to drinks or performance, automatically a cultural experience with an authentic Amsterdam maritime decor.
Have your guests arrive as they should in Amsterdam: by salon boat. We pick up your party at a central location and bring everyone atmospherically to De Oosthal, and later back again. A start that perfectly matches the maritime and cultural experience of the Kromhout Wharf.
The boat transfer is not “transportation,” but the beginning of the experience. These are Rederij Belle’s four salon boats that are often used to stylishly transport your guests to De Oosthal (and back again afterwards).

Together we agree on a boarding location and sailing time that suits your program. On the day itself we will receive your party at the boarding location and sail to De Oosthal. A return trip can also be arranged afterwards.
Yes. You can also rent De Oosthal without a boat transfer. You can indicate your preference in the quotation form.
Maximum capacity depends on the type of event and setup (standing, dinner, theater, etc.). Please provide the type of event and number of guests in your request, and we will recommend the best setup.
De Oosthal works with clear agreements on sound and end time. In the quotation phase we agree on what is possible within the permit and your program.
We are happy to think with you about accessibility and on-site logistics. Please indicate in your request what amenities are needed, and we will coordinate.
Catering and suppliers are possible by mutual agreement. Tell us what you have in mind (catering type, technique, suppliers), and together we will look for the best interpretation.
