History of Shipping Company Belle

After years of sailing their own clippers as skippers, Alfred Vellekoop and Sacha Emmerik were ready for a new challenge. They bought a saloon boat, the ‘Mina Mitzi’. This salon boat could use a restoration, and Alfred and Sacha had a clear idea of how this should be done. The ‘Mina Mitzi’ was restored and renamed ‘Belle van Zuylen’. With the restoration of this salon boat, the establishment of ‘Rederij Belle’ in 1999 was a fact. In the following years several salon boats were restored so that the fleet now consists of 4 salon boats: ‘Belle van Zuylen’, ‘Dame van Amstel’, ‘Adeline’ and ‘Emma’.
