Spring is in the air! The sun is showing itself more often and that means it’s time to get outside and hit the water again. In this newsletter we share some great developments, fun spring outings and conclude our series on 25 years of Rederij Belle.
All salon boats electric 💫
Last month all our salon boats went to the yard in Zaandam again for their annual maintenance. One ship stays there a little longer: our Adeline. This is because she is undergoing a special transformation.
The familiar internal combustion engine is being replaced for an all-electric drive system. We are currently working hard to install and adjust everything. Once this project is completed, we will reach a beautiful milestone: all of Rederij Belle’s salon boats will then sail electrically.
This is not only better for the environment, but also provides an extra special experience on board. After all, electric boating means gliding through the canals and over the water at a whisper. And as a guest, you will notice that immediately.
May 10 is Mother’s Day again!
No last-minute stress this year to come up with an original Mother’s Day gift. Just make it an outing to remember.
Take your mother out on the water. For example, for a High Tea aboard our smallest lady Emma, while cruising leisurely through the Amsterdam canals. Or choose a relaxing cruise with a glass of bubbles on board, combined with dinner in a restaurant at the quayside.

Spring is in the air. The sun is showing itself more often again, the days are getting longer and everywhere itches: time to get outside again.
Therefore, we have a special spring promotion for you: on the ship rental of our beautiful sailing ship Lemsteraak Grote Jager, you will temporarily receive a 15% spring discount.

History of Shipping Belle – the last chapter for now 😉
Last year we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Rederij Belle. In past newsletters, we took you through the most important moments in our shipping company’s history. This time we conclude the series with the most recent years – and a look ahead.
In 2018, our fleet was expanded with a special ship: the Success. When she came to us, she still needed some attention. Fortunately, Alfred and his technical crew were already there. With great skill and patience, the ship was refurbished and prepared for a new life on the water.
Shortly thereafter came a period no one will soon forget: the corona years. Lockdowns alternated with brief moments when sailing was allowed again. It required flexibility, perseverance and, perhaps most importantly, faith in the future.
That future proved stronger than the uncertainty of the moment. We continued to build our fleet and worked step by step on a big ambition: to have all salon boats electric. With the electrification of the Adeline, which is now under hard work, that project is almost complete.
And as if everything came together nicely, last January we also celebrated our 25th anniversary.
What the future holds?
Our fleet feels complete and we are incredibly proud of that. At the same time, new ideas are constantly emerging. With the possibility of receiving guests in the museum-like, industrial Oosthal, we can now create special programs: a cruise through the canals on historic maritime heritage, combined with a meeting at a place where maritime history is still tangible and palpable.
In short: the next chapter is already upon us.
