Rederij Belle 25 years: the first years on the Vecht
This year, Rederij Belle is celebrating its 25th anniversary! In honor of this milestone, we look back on the history of our shipping company in our newsletters. This time we take you back to the first years aboard the Belle van Zuylen, sailing the beautiful Vecht – a period full of special collaborations.
After her festive christening at Slot Zuylen, the Belle van Zuylen, affectionately called “the Belle,” quickly made a name for herself on the river. One unique collaboration after another followed: summer concerts with pianist Laurens van Rooyen, exclusive tours at windmill De Hoop, and cruises with stops at cheese farm De Willigen in Vreeland – often accompanied by guides who brought the stories of the Vecht to life with flair and knowledge.
The atmosphere on board was intimate, stylish and relaxed. Guests enjoyed the stately country houses, exuberant hydrangeas along the waterfront, and fine restaurants along the way. The Vecht revealed its richness, and the Belle was the perfect stage.
