This cultural arrangement is dedicated to one of Holland’s first feminists: the writer Belle van Zuylen, who is also the namesake of one of our salon boats. The package includes a visit to the stately Slot Zuylen.
From Maarssen, sail toward Oud-Zuilen on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Vecht. Our salon boat will take you past beautiful country houses. Arriving in Oud-Zuilen, the salon boat moors at Slot Zuylen, a castle where many illustrious knights and noble families have lived. The most famous resident of the castle was the writer Belle van Zuylen, who lived there until her 31st.
Zuylen Castle is now a museum. You will get a comprehensive historical tour of the various rooms, such as the Gobelin Room, the Dining Room, the Library, the Blue Room and the Tea Room. Of course, a glimpse into Belle’s fascinating life is not to be missed.
You can cruise on the salon boat Belle van Zuylen for parties of 20 or more, and for larger groups, the salon boat Dame van Amstel is most suitable.
The Belle van Zuylen package lasts 3 hours, but if you would like to extend the cruise or add other activities, please let us know. A lot of things are possible.
