The Vinkeveen Lakes is a natural and water sports area northeast of the city of Vinkeveen. Due to their easy access from both the Amstel River and the A2 motorway, these lakes have become very popular with boaters. In addition to boating, this lakes region is great for waterskiing, diving and swimming, and several companies have sailboats and rowboats for rental. When you add in the fine marinas and restaurants along the water, you have all the ingredients for a lively day.
A day sailing on the Vinkeveen Lakes offers many diverse possibilities. Nature lovers would enjoy the lakes which are spotted with small pieces of land (so-called legakkers or ribs which are home to diverse flora and fauna) and a ring of twelve sand islands. Those who prefer a cruise with more luxury can sail on quiet, sheltered waters past beautiful villas and buildings. You can even dock for a refreshment at one of the many fine restaurants along the shore.
Rederij Belle’s saloon boats Dame van Amstel and Belle van Zuylen sail regularly on the Vinkeveen Lakes. The Belle van Zuylen is most suitable for small groups of up to 30 people; larger groups fit comfortably on the Dame van Amstel, the largest saloon boat in the Netherlands which can accommodate parties of up to 80 people.
