Towers, transoms, knights and falconers
You will sail from the beautiful heart of the city of Weesp to the Muiderslot in Muiden. At this textbook example of a medieval castle, there is much to see and experience. There is an informative guided tour and in addition you can explore the castle on your own and wander through the gardens and along the ramparts. There are also frequent demonstrations, such as knight fights and a falconer with birds of prey.
The beautiful saloon boat that takes you to Muiderslot Castle offers you the opportunity to catch up with each other in a pleasant atmosphere. What makes your visit extra special is that you moor at the lock’s private jetty. At the end of your visit to the castle, you will also board the train there again.
Floris V and P.C. Hooft
Who doesn’t know the Muiderslot? It has stood at the mouth of the Vecht for some 700 years. One of its most famous residents was Floris V, the nobleman who got along so well with the citizens and was killed by other nobles in 1296. Some four centuries later, the castle was the summer residence of P.C. Hooft, who invited literary friends, scientists and musicians there. That company later became known as the Muider Circle.
A package for young and old
The Muiderslot package is particularly suitable as a family outing. Young and old alike will enjoy themselves. The program for the day is as follows.
- 12:30 p.m.
You board in Weesp. The captain welcomes you and then your cruise down the Vecht begins. - 1:00 p.m.
During the journey, the crew will serve a lunch buffet with a variety of filled rolls, farmhouse sandwiches and green salads. - 1:30 p.m.
We pass through the impressive Muiden Sea Locks and arrive at the jetty of Muiderslot Castle. You will disembark for a visit to the castle. - 3:00 p.m.
You will board your saloon boat again. We sail back to Weesp, enjoying drinks and snacks. - 4:00 p.m.
Arrival in Weesp, end of the package.

The Muiderslot package lasts approximately 3.5 hours. The boat trip starts and ends in Weesp.
